TrailMoose products are built for real adventures, and we stand behind them with the following limited warranty for the original purchaser.

Warranty periods by product

  • Cargo boxes: limited lifetime warranty
  • Rooftop tents: 2-year limited warranty
  • Awnings & all other TrailMoose accessories: 1-year limited warranty

The warranty period starts on the original date of purchase shown on your receipt or order confirmation.

This warranty applies to TrailMoose products purchased from trailmoose.com or from an authorized TrailMoose retailer and used in Canada.

What this warranty covers

During the applicable warranty period, TrailMoose warrants that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when used, installed, and maintained according to our instructions.

If, after inspection, we confirm a defect that is covered by this warranty, TrailMoose will, at our option:

  • Repair the product, or
  • Supply replacement parts, or
  • Replace the product with the same or a comparable model, or
  • Refund or credit you up to the original purchase price.

Any repaired or replaced product is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days from the date of repair/replacement, whichever is longer.

What this warranty does not cover

This limited warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear, including:

  • Fading, discolouration, cosmetic scratches or marks
  • UV damage over time
  • Worn fabrics, foam, or zippers from regular use

Improper use or installation, including:

  • Failure to follow TrailMoose installation or loading instructions
  • Overloading or exceeding the recommended weight limits
  • Use on vehicles or racks that are not compatible or are improperly installed

Storage and condensation issues, such as:

  • Mould, mildew, or odours caused by storing the tent or awning while damp
  • Damage from long-term storage without ventilation
    (Condensation can occur inside a closed tent, especially with temperature swings. It is your responsibility to open and air out the tent regularly.)

Accidents and external forces, including:

  • Collisions, rollovers, or impact from road debris
  • Storm, hail, wind, or other weather damage
  • Animal damage, fire, flooding, or other “acts of nature”

Modifications or unauthorized repairs, including:

  • Drilling, cutting, or altering the product
  • Use of non-TrailMoose parts or hardware
  • Repairs or alterations done by anyone not authorized by TrailMoose

Commercial, rental, or fleet use, unless TrailMoose has agreed to this in writing.

This warranty also does not cover any damage to non-TrailMoose property, such as your vehicle, roof rack, cargo, or other personal items used with the product.

How to make a warranty claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

1. Clean and inspect the product.

    Make sure the product is reasonably clean so we can clearly see the problem.

2. Gather your information. 

    Order number or proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or email confirmation)

    Product name and a description of the issue

    Clear photos or a short video showing the defect and how the product is installed

3. Contact TrailMoose
    Email us at info@trailmoose.com with all of the above details.

4. Review
    Our team will review your claim and may ask for additional photos or information.
    In most cases we aim to let you know whether your claim is covered within 7 days of    receiving all required information.

Return & resolution

If a physical inspection is needed, we may ask you to ship the product to TrailMoose or to an authorized service location.

Unless prohibited by law, you are responsible for shipping the product to us (prepaid). If the claim is approved, we may, at our discretion, reimburse reasonable shipping costs.

Once approved, we will repair, replace, or otherwise resolve the claim as described under “What this warranty covers.”

Customers are responsible for removing the product from their vehicle and for any third-party labour (such as roof-rack shops or mechanics), unless we agree otherwise in writing.
